Merry Christmas Everyone!
I want everyone to know that I blog just about every day, but somehow only about once per month seem to get through lately... It's a good thing that I'm so easy going or I'd be really upset with vox :) That being said, and assuming this post makes it on my page, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I'll tell you what, My Christmas spirit has been running on empty this year. I can't really explain it and what's even stranger is that many people I've talked to have had the same feeling... The last couple of days have been a bit better... Watching IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE while eating SCHNUGGETS*tm* with Steve and Janie helped. Also our church's Christmas musical went really well and all of the preparation and Choir practices seemed worth it with the enjoyment that folks seemed to have from it. Even though I enjoy singing, I had a solo part, which is nerve racking and even though a part of me looked forward to it, the nervousness and dread is always hanging overhead. So, with that having past, and shopping done, there has been a little more of a Christmasy feeling felt. *It might have even helped a little that the Redskins gave me the gift of playoff hope a couple of days early* But overall, I'm looking forward to tomorrow... Christmas has a real meaning that can't be ignored whether I'm feeling the "Christmas Spirit" or not. Couple that with having family over and enjoying giving things to folks you love and I think Christmas is going to be pretty special once again. Here's to hoping that all of you have a very special day with your family and friends, and that this Christmas is one you'll always remember. -Gary
My good ol' brother Steve is on a business trip. I am usually ambivalent towards his travels because (a) I don't really understand what he does, and (b) he's usually back before I know he's gone. But this trip to Fayetteville, NC. made my day when I checked his blog and found this picture:
YES!!!!
What kind of a town are you living in, when a tactical assault gear shop opens across the street? Oh, sure I guess people need that sort of stuff when they perform all of their, uh...tactics, but I'd like to assume that if the gear were needed for say, LAW ENFORCEMENT, it would be issued to them. So that leaves Johnny "the government is watching me" Smith as your primary targeted customer. He's easily brought in by the sign that says, "Your one stop militia shop". What sort of stuff is in a tactical assault gear shop anyway? I wish Steve had been able to go in and peruse the isles, but it appears the store was closed. Well, should the fact that the store is merely closed, keep one from entering a tactical assault gear store? I mean, you couldn't just walk in the front door of a tactical assault gear shop anyway, could you? I would imagine that all customers would have to either climb in through a vent, or repel from the ceiling. It would be pretty interesting inside with all communication being done with silent hand signals. There would be no children inside, they would be outside with the wife, establishing a 2 block perimeter.
How weird would it be to see your neighbor, the accountant shopping there? Do they sell gift certificates? Do they have a catalogue?
I've got to go there... Steve, when's the next trip? You've got a traveling buddy...
